On 26 May 2009, Yorkshire Bank* will be appointed as the ISA Manager, in place of MLC for your Cash ISA account(s). MLC will transfer all benefits, duties and obligations under the terms and conditions to Yorkshire Bank on the transfer date.
The good news is that you don't have to do anything about this change, we do everything for you. MLC and Yorkshire Bank are both part of the National Australia Bank Group, which was recently rated as the 11th safest bank in the world by Global Finance†.
There will be no change to regular subscriptions or any of the other benefits you've come to expect from your Cash ISA. There will also be no change to interest rates however, where you hold more than one Cash ISA account, we'll transfer the balances into a single account. This will ensure that you attract the maximum interest on our tiered interest rates. (There are further details of this in the Questions & Answers section below).
As part of the transfer, the terms and conditions for your account will change to reflect that your Cash ISA will now be a Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA, but the main change you'll see will be that in the future you'll be able to access your account or top-up your Cash ISA in branch or through your Relationship Manager. Have a look at the Schedule below to see the detail. To view the Key Features document for the new account and the new terms and conditions, in full, please select the link Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA (PDF, 125KB).
The ISA rules allow for the transfer of Plan Manager without any loss of tax relief and the transferred amount will not impact your subscription limits for 2009/10. You should also be aware that an ISA may be transferred to another ISA Manager at any time.
Interest will be credited to your Cash ISA by MLC up to and including the 22 May 2009 and Yorkshire Bank will start applying interest to the Cash ISA on the 26 May 2009. Yorkshire Bank will make the necessary interest adjustment to your new Cash ISA account to make sure you don’t lose out on the interest you could have earned between these dates. You will receive written confirmation from MLC and Yorkshire Bank, shortly after the transfer has taken place.
If you have any questions regarding the transfer please refer to our Questions and Answers or alternatively you can call our Customer Service Centre on 0870 607 3344** between the hours of 8am–8pm Monday to Friday.
