On 26 May 2009, Yorkshire Bank* will be appointed as the ISA Manager, in place of MLC for your Cash ISA account(s). MLC will transfer all benefits, duties and obligations under the terms and conditions to Yorkshire Bank on the transfer date.

The good news is that you don't have to do anything about this change, we do everything for you. MLC and Yorkshire Bank are both part of the National Australia Bank Group, which was recently rated as the 11th safest bank in the world by Global Finance†.

There will be no change to regular subscriptions or any of the other benefits you've come to expect from your Cash ISA. There will also be no change to interest rates however, where you hold more than one Cash ISA account, we'll transfer the balances into a single account. This will ensure that you attract the maximum interest on our tiered interest rates. (There are further details of this in the Questions & Answers section below).

As part of the transfer, the terms and conditions for your account will change to reflect that your Cash ISA will now be a Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA, but the main change you'll see will be that in the future you'll be able to access your account or top-up your Cash ISA in branch or through your Relationship Manager. Have a look at the Schedule below to see the detail. To view the Key Features document for the new account and the new terms and conditions, in full, please select the link Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA (PDF, 125KB).

The ISA rules allow for the transfer of Plan Manager without any loss of tax relief and the transferred amount will not impact your subscription limits for 2009/10. You should also be aware that an ISA may be transferred to another ISA Manager at any time.

Interest will be credited to your Cash ISA by MLC up to and including the 22 May 2009 and Yorkshire Bank will start applying interest to the Cash ISA on the 26 May 2009. Yorkshire Bank will make the necessary interest adjustment to your new Cash ISA account to make sure you don’t lose out on the interest you could have earned between these dates. You will receive written confirmation from MLC and Yorkshire Bank, shortly after the transfer has taken place.

If you have any questions regarding the transfer please refer to our Questions and Answers or alternatively you can call our Customer Service Centre on 0870 607 3344** between the hours of 8am–8pm Monday to Friday.

Why is the manager of my Cash ISA changing from MLC Savings Limited ("MLC") to Yorkshire Bank* ("Yorkshire     Bank")?

MLC is a member of the National Australia Bank Group of companies which was appointed to manage your Cash ISA. As Yorkshire Bank has now become an ISA Manager it has been decided to transfer the management of the Cash ISAs from MLC to Yorkshire Bank. By consolidating all your existing MLC Cash ISAs into a single Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA you may benefit from our tiered interest rates.

What does this mean for the money held in my Cash ISA?

Currently, your MLC Cash ISA money is held on deposit with Yorkshire Bank with the ISA being managed by MLC. The money will remain in Yorkshire Bank, as it is only the manager that is changing not where the money is held on deposit. This means that there is no change to your qualification under the Financial Service Compensation Scheme and your deposits will be secured up to £50,000 under this scheme.

I also have a MLC Stocks & Shares ISA, does that form part of this communication?

This communication relates to the management of the MLC Cash ISA only.

As a customer do I have to take any action?

There is no action required by customers. We will carry out the transfer of the management of the Cash ISA from MLC to Yorkshire Bank. You can continue to operate your ISA under the existing arrangements. As stated in the accompanying letter there will be no change to the benefits of the ISA.

Is there any change to my ISA allowances and will my subscriptions be lost as a result of the transfer of plan     manager?

No, there is no impact or change to your ISA allowance as a result of the change of plan manager and there is no loss of your subscriptions. The regulations permit transfer of plan manager without the loss of tax relief under current ISA rules.

I make regular contributions into my MLC Cash ISA by Direct Debit – what will happen to my Direct Debit following the     change of ISA Manager to Yorkshire Bank?

Your Direct Debit will continue to be collected for the same amount and on the same day as your MLC Cash ISA payment was collected. You need take no action. In the letter we sent you we enclosed a formal notification of the change we are making in line with the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme.

I have 3 separate Cash ISAs with MLC – will I have separate Yorkshire Bank accounts when my Cash ISA is     transferred to Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA?

No, as part of the transfer MLC will amalgamate your separate MLC Cash ISAs and transfer the total amount to one Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA account. This will ensure that you attract the maximum interest on our tiered interest rates.

Will the interest rate on my MLC Cash ISA and Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA be the same?

Yes the interest paid on both MLC and Yorkshire Bank Cash ISAs will be the same at the point of the transfer however, where you hold more than one Cash ISA account, we'll transfer the balances into a single account to ensure that you attract the maximum interest on our tiered interest rates. Following the transfer MLC will no longer offer a Cash ISA element within their ISA offering.

What happens to the interest my Cash ISA would have earned between 22 May and 26 May?

Yorkshire Bank will make the necessary interest adjustment to your new Cash ISA account to make sure you don’t lose out on the interest you could have earned between these dates.

How do I add, withdraw funds and make enquiries about my account following the transfer of Plan Manager to     Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA on 22 May 2009?

For simplicity we have noted Customer Information - Cut Off Dates, that will apply to money being paid into and out of your Cash ISA account. Due to the volume of accounts being transferred from MLC Cash ISA to Yorkshire Bank Cash ISA there is an agreement between MLC and Yorkshire Bank to ensure any customer instructions not carried out in time for the transfer are passed between Plan Managers to ensure all customer instructions are processed in a timely manner.
